Shoes
The correct dance shoes are not essential for the first few weeks - just in case the student decides they don’t want to continue. However, the sooner shoes are purchased, the quicker and easier it is to learn. When tapping without tap shoes, harder soled shoes are recommended as sneakers tend to grip and get stuck on the floor - hence making tapping more difficult!
Students commencing without jazz or classical shoes should wear runners. Normal runners are fine to commence funk classes.
Lou-Na Performers has a book available with details of second hand uniform and shoes for sale. If you are interested in buying or selling second hand items, the clearly marked white books are kept in the office area.
