Mid Year Display
Our Mid-Year Display involves all students and is a very low-key event as costumes are less elaborate than at the end of the year and there are no sets or props involved, nor any extra rehearsals. The Mid-Year Display is simply an opportunity for family and friends to see how the students are progressing over the year. It is also a great opportunity for students to gain extra performance experience. The display is usually held at The Mahon Theatre, (Aquinas College, Great Ryrie Street, Ringwood.) during the day on a Saturday or Sunday in June. As soon as we are allocated our date from the theatre, it will be posted on the notice board at the studio.
Mid Year Choreographic Performance
This event is optional and open to all students from Junior level and upwards. Students are invited to choreograph their own routine as a solo, duo, trio or group of 4 or more. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to create their own pieces of work and perform it on a stage with an audience. At the conclusion of the evening, the audience votes for their favourite items and the most popular routines are chosen to be performed in the Mid Year Display. This event is usually held in June prior to the Display. Please check the noticeboard for exact dates later in the year.
End of Year Concert
All students are involved in our December Concerts and it is the highlight of the dance year at Lou-Na Performers. All students perform in 3 shows (with the exception of Tiny Tots) which are held at the Mahon Theatre. (Aquinas College, Great Ryrie street, Ringwood.) In the weeks leading up to the concert, we have a rehearsal at the theatre which involves all students and a professional photo session where all students have their photo taken in their costumes. As soon as we are notified of our end of year dates, they will be posted on the noticeboard at the studio.
Costumes
Most costumes for our Mid-Year Display and End of Year Concerts will be hired to you. Most costumes are hired out at a cost of $18 per costume, however generally the cost is less at Mid-Year due to the costumes being less elaborate. Hiring costumes proves to be far cheaper for parents and whilst there may be some minor hand sewing to do, there will be very little or most likely no machine sewing!
